Advisory Teachers – Hopefully, you enjoyed chapter one of our “One Book, One School” - Restart! Question for today: What is amnesia? How would you feel if you woke up in the hospital and could not remember anyone or anything? Please read chapter 2 for tomorrow.
SPORTS NEWS – In Tennis last night we won against Jackson Northwest 7-1. Great job to the tennis team! Our MVP’s for Monday’s match were Ande King, JD Acetunio, Shelby Barnes, & Olivia Ledbetter. Way to go team!
The ladies track and field team had an incredible first track meet last night, with an overall team score of 113-37 against Battle Creek Central. Some highlights of the night included:
- In the high jump - Ella Brannen took 1st place and got a new personal record, Katie Duckworth took 2nd and Holland Van Dussen took 3rd
- In long jump - Taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd was Gabby Barrosso, Sarah Murphy and Abigail Cook
- In the shot put - Addie Higgs got 3rd place
- Bristol Latimer and La'Riah Force took 2nd and 3rd place in the 70 meter dash
- Ella Brannen, Abby Miller and Mya Mattens got 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 400 meter run with Ella getting a new personal record
- In the 800, Carsen Bunker, Lyla Zumer and Marissa Demorest snagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd with Carsen setting a new personal record
- Abbie Cook and Lucy Schwartz held 1st and 2nd place in the mile
- Marissa Demorest, Abbie Cook and Ella Bushman rocked out 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the two mile
- in the 200 meter hurdles, Addie Higgs took first and got a new personal best time while Acarial Nelson and Natalie Cummins took 2nd and 3rd
- for the 55 hurdles, Addie Higgs took 1st again with Lilian Gandy and Katie Leamy taking 2nd and 3rd
- all four relay teams took first place last night. They consist of- Bristol Latimer Gabby Barraso, Amara Gothard and Katie Duckworth in the 4x100; Amara Gothard, Bristol Latimer, Mya Mattens and Alaina Kirkpatrick in the 4x200, Ella Brannen, Lyla Zumer, Abby Miller and Carson Bunker in the 4x400 and Marissa Demorest, Carson Bunker, Lyla Zumer and Anna Loritz in the 4x800
- All of the girls worked hard last night and represented HC with class. There is another home track meet on Wednesday against Jackson Northwest at 4pm. Come on out and cheer on both the boys' and girls' teams!
The boys track team started the night with a victory in the 2 mile relay with the team of Colin Alday, Lucas Russell, Jacob Gallagher, and Landan Jenkins.
Brady Atton, Conner Asher, and Jamier Page went 1, 2, and 3 in the 70.
Connor O’Connell took first in the 100 and Pole Vault, with Austin Converse supporting him in the vault with second place.
Blake Kane and Colin Alday raced to a gold and silver in the 800, and Kane later dominated the 2 mile with Jacob Gallagher and Landan Jenkins finishing right behind him in second and third.
In the mile run, the trio of Cooper Monroe, Jojo Ruble. And Colin Alday took the top three spots.
Ruble also left the track with a first and second in the 55 and 200 meter hurdles with Andon Elkins earning the bronze in both.
Cooper Monroe and Blake Kane cleared the bar in the high jump to earn the top two spots.
